Default Battery Saver

I've searched the site for information on the Battery Saver alert. I have a 2013 F150 XLT that has given me this alert 4 times in the last month. It has been to the dealer 3 times & the last time they replaced the battery. If I drive it every day I am ok. If it sets for 2 days & I drive it 16 miles to work, I will get the alert if I sit in the truck for a few minutes & listen to the radio. I didn't see a lot of success listed in the forum so I'm wondering if anyone has had current success in getting it resolved? I've seen mention of relays & switches & the door lock in the drivers door does not work the best. If I use my remote to open the door, when I grab the handle sometimes it acts locked but if I try opening the door again without the remote it opens fine. It's going back to the dealer again next week. I hope they can locate the problem. Thanks.

2 things to check: One is the General Electronics Module (GEM) which keeps the onboard electronics up and running after key-off. The 2nd is the auxiliary ports on the vehicle which are also hot after key-off. Our fleet Transit Connects at work just got a TSB for these issues. Maybe it's the same on F150s. Worth a look anyway. Good luck.

I would hope your dealer knows about the Battery Monitoring System on your truck and have reset it when the battery is replaced. It's a function on the IDS, couldn't hurt to ask if they did it. Would cause your low battery message if not reset.

The good thing though is the BMS will relearn the battery SOC if set overnight. It needs 8 hours of rest to regain a quality soc value.
