Default Battery question?

I am deploying to Afghanistan for about 5 months and was wondering If anyone knows if letting the truck sit that long will kill the battery? I would rather not disconnect it so the neighbors can call the cops if the alarm goes off.

It will most likely go down. You could, however, buy a fifty dollar "battery tender" that will keep it maintained. I keep one on my rarely driven mustang and it's awesome.

If it's parked outside, try one of these:
Amazon Amazon

They sell waterproof Battery Tenders:

I have both solar and a few different Battery Tenders. They all work great. If your truck is going to be parked outside, the solar tender is a great option. You don't have to worry about extension cords.

Agreed on the Solar Tender.

The battery will likely be okay if you ensure it is fully charged before you go and then simply disconnect the ground cable. Assuming it won't be subject to freezing temperatures.
