Default Battery Dead Again!!!

This is the second time in a matter of a couple of weeks that I've woke up for work and couldn't crank my truck, luckily this time I wasn't locked out. I don't understand what the problem could be, all of the interior lights come on when I open the door and when I tried to start it the stereo came on as well. If someone could help me out that would be great because I'm lost at this point.

Do you have a way to check battery voltage when all of this is going on? Is the starter even trying to engage?

If your truck is a 2009 and has the original battery, it very easily could be a bad battery. The only way to determine that is to full charge the battery and then have it load tested. Some folks may think a fully charged battery is when it allows the engine to start. That is not correct. A fully charged battery is when the battery will no longer take a charge.

My truck is a 2010 and when I know I'm not going to be driving for a day or more, I connect a battery charger. I was surprised to find out how long it took to fully charge the battery.

This ^^^^
I have found Motorcraft batteries to hit or miss in the last several years.
The battery on my 06 only lasted 2.5 years. I don't know if they changed manufacturers or what? But the battery in my 97 lasted 7.5 years.

Have you checked ALL the cable connections? Not only at the battery but where the ground is too? Have you had the battery checked to see if defective or just at end of life?

Yep 2009 with original battery, this seems like a winner here. Well since the whole south east shuts down in inclement weather, I'm going to run the the local auto parts store and have them check the voltage since its sleeting and we got off work early! (go ahead and laugh if you're used to real winter weather being the norm!) I'll give you guys an update here in a few hours.

Default Battery

My 09 had to have the battery replaced maybe after 4-5 months from new.

As previously said and looks like what your doing...take the battery in and have a Load Check done. If that is good--which i doubt, Then take to a auto guy so he can make sure that the charging system is up to the task.

I left my key forward one notch, totally dead in the morning. Pisses me off because what stayed on? It tells me "turning off power to conserve power" when I'm listening to the radio but somehow something stayed on.
