I have a 2013 F150 Limited Turbo V6. I need a battery for it. What is the best battery I can buy?

 

Are/were you satisfied with the current brand of battery? If so... Why not replace it with that size and brand?

I put a Motorcraft BXT65-850 in my 2014. The stock battery on mine was a 650CCA 130min RC, I upgraded to Motorcraft's 850CCA 150min RC battery because it was the same price.

 

I run my batteries 5 Winters - and the one I put in was a 65AGM battery.

It is a Johnson Control one made for Autozone. 3 year replacement warranty - not prorated.

I thought it was time to try one - and after replacing the cables due to corrosion I like the idea of no acid.

 

I finally replaced my OE with a Batteries Plus X2Power. 930cca, 5 year non-prorated warranty. Not cheap.

 

almost any battery will work. my only suggestion is to get an AGM styled battery.

 

Walmart batteries are made by Johnson Controls and offer a good warranty as well. I just replaced mine 2 months out of the 3 year warranty. Unfortunately it was because acid was leaking out of it and ate through my positive terminal. This isn't a walmart battery specific issue, so don't confuse that.

If anyone needs a new battery terminal, this one is specific to fords and WAY cheaper than the ford one. Took about 5 minutes to install. You cut the main wire going to the factory terminal (the one that you can't remove) and then either use a ring terminal (I did this) or use the clamp to clamp the cable back on. Both my Mustang and F150 have Walmart Batteries and if the vehicle came with an AGM it would have been replaced with an AGM. Also Neither of my Vehicles have a BMS so neither require the learning or 8 hours or reset with Forscan.
I also have a NOCO Genius Charger that I desulfate the Battery with every oil change.

Walmart batteries have been made by all 3 major lead-acid companies, depending on timing and who is giving them the best rates that day. The main problem with them is you generally have to walk into Walmart to acquire one.
