Default Basic radio upgrade to the 4.2 screen ???

I have a 2014 STX with the basic radio above. Found the stuff in the pic below for sale at a decent price. It's also from a 2014. Can I just switch all the stuff out or is the a difference in the wiring?

Default Basic Upgrade

I am curious about this as well. I have 2013 STX and would like to do the same upgrade on the radio.

Fairly sure the connectors are different. Have a look at this pic.

I have a 13 with the 4" screen, well I did before I upgraded to an Alpine 9" with nav but I digress, Pull your radio out and look at it's connector, if it looks like the black and white one in that pic you should be ok, if it's the red one you will have to do some splicing if you can nab the correct connector from a salvage yard or perhaps an audio shop or even Ford..

P.S. I have a brand new Ford connector for the 4" screen if you need one should you decide to splice it in.

Pics of the bag and actually connected to that 4" screen, I was attempting a modification that never came to fruition.

im going to say that this is not as simple as swaping in the 4.2'' setup, a dash wiring harness from an 4.2'' equipped truck with similar options along with temp module, instrument cluster and some other parts would be required for this you have the base analog setup and the 4.2'' system communicates on a network that does not exist on the analog system so you would be having not only add the wiring but rewire your current dash harness to work with everything else

I haven’t had a chance to pull my radio but it based on the options the only difference is the rear defroster. Mine has Bluetooth with steering wheel controls. I am still concerned. There a lot of unknowns do I need the radio how do I get the screen to read the clock and temp from the basic screen in the truck. I was just wondering has anyone else attempted this?

Start your own thread, don't leach on others!! It just causes confusion.
