I hate to burst a bubble but the base model invoices for 23K and then there is at least a 1500 rebate. Add in a 750 coupon and a generous hold back of 500 and you are looking at right around 20K. Maybe there a are a few other hidden rebates but I doubt it on the base model. Lots of people will chime in that they saved $10,000 but I think you will find out those were F150s puffed up with options to 40-45K and then deeply discounted to make it look like a good deal. There is not as much wiggle room on the base model.

Your second problem will be finding a base model this with no options. They are rarer than King Lariats.

There is a local dealer in my area that has a couple advertised for 17K and 19K. That dealer is infamous for adding every rebate no single person could ever qualify for in. Military, student, first time buyer, trade in help, Ford employee...etc

I would not want you to walk into a dealer and think they are ripping you off right off the bat because a few people on this board said they should be selling their F150s for 16K. Now if somebody on this board has solid evidence there is a end of the year deal that will match that...feel free to chime in.

Costco is running 200 below x-plan on the trucks I am looking at.

Costco does have a great return policy on electronics and all items.

Also order a brochure online and see if you get the $750 rebate.

Interesting info. I find it hard to believe that the cost of this truck has jumped up over $5k in the last 5 years. That would be a $1k more increase every year. I also sent off for the $750 brochure.

As far as the resale... not worried. In fact, I drive a 99 Honda Civic right now with only 140k miles. I'm very cautious with my money and I drive something until the wheels fall off. I'm planning on still driving the civic to work to keep the miles low on the F-150. I'm mainly buying the F-150 to tow my 4 wheeler and to hunt with. Plus, I plan on adding some black wheels, line-x, tinted windows etc.. it will be pretty sweet. I just don't have a need for a V-8 or 4 doors. The great thing about the base model is less stuff to go wrong... i.e. no window motors to replace etc..

I don't have experience buying a base model truck, but I'd be absolutely shocked if you can walk out the door with a brand new F150 for $15k total. Now if you mean $15k after you put down $8k then that's a different story

Last year my local dealer was selling base model F150's for $12,950. This was a 2wd, regular cab, v6, stick shift. It didn't even have a radio or A/C. It was a plain "base" model work truck. It even came in the 1 and only color choice of white...lol So there's deals to be had, just have to ask and look around. I would check with a dealer that does alot of fleet volume sales.

Dealers near me were selling new 2010s last year for right around 13k, so I'm sure you can find what you want.

Did F150s even have the option of a stick shift last year? I thought they quit that a couple years ago
