Default Base FX4 vs. Loaded STX

I wondering what comes on a standard FX4 that a Loaded STX wouldn't have?

I WAS really set on getting a Ecoboost Club cab 6.5' and love the FX4 look, NO CHROME!!! With all the discounts and Xplan I was down to ~33k on a Base FX4 with Ecoboost with only the brake controller added as an option. Up here in Minnesota they are Offering a "Northland" edition which is basically a loaded STX 4x4 with a 5.0L at a "special" price. I can order one with the 3.73 e-locker rear and brake controller and come in around ~28k. This is a 5000$ difference in price! The only difference I visually seen was the FX4 has bucket seats up front, black head/tail lights (which look GREAT), and a few cheap skid plates, what else am I missing? even a 5.0 FX4 would be 3500$ more, but the STX isn't available with EB. I'd be plenty happy with a 5.0L especially at a 5000$ savings but I have a past history of "tweaking" 6 cylinders.......... 240hp 300-6......... 274rwhp 3.8L v6.......... and the EB comes pre tweaked!

As I've aged a bit common sense is kicking in, the EB would be great for only 750$ more and I wouldn't hesitate, but the 5000$ difference...... 5000$ would never be recouped with gas savings or resale as I'll only put ~8000 miles a year on it and probably keep it 10 years. Either engine would be a VAST improvement over the 240hp/280tq my Mountaineer with a 7000 lb towing capacity. And yes, I tow ~7000# with it as I haul my 5000# skid steer around a few times a year. I mostly pull a 2500# 20' pontoon or a 4000# 4 place ATV/snowmobile trailer.

yep, 4x4
Both would be 4x4 and 3.73 geared/locked.

Go on Ford's website and/or peruse the F150 brochure, and pretty much all the differences are spelled out for you.

The FX4 is gonna have different shocks to make it feel better off road. U get the upgraded black cloth interior and the flow through center console. The interior trims are nicer in the FX4, but if u don't care about looks, both of the trucks ur looking at are pretty identical (mechanical wise).

I know many trims are different in Canada, but the STX is a 4x2 available in Scab only here. And after some googling, seems it may be specific special edition to your area. So you may have to spend some time around both. Cool though.

With STX you can't get offroad package, back up camera, back up sensors, power seats, auto head lights, nice gauge cluster, 4.2" screen, and it comes with lower grade cloth seats. I really wanted an STX as I hate chrome too but ended up with an XLT as the extra features are worth it.

Also, gfo to a dealer and sit in an FX4 and STX. You will see why the FX4 costs more.

Nope. You can get a 4x4 STX in Canada. I was debating between an STX 4x4 and XTR when I bought my truck. Ended up with an XTR.

I have an STX. And yes....no goodies like ^above^ says. I was able to install the auto headlights, and I also did heated power mirrors with turn signals. I don't think they do it anymore,(by that I mean 2011's and '12's) but my '10 STX was pre wired for these things. I have a wiring harness behind that "coin holder" too, its for the 4X4 switch. I wanted to put in a brake controller too, but I don't have that harness.

I did buy my truck used. But if I could do it all again, id probably get an FX4. The only things. I prefer about the STX is the lack of chrome...and the floor 4X4 shifter.
