Has anyone ever had their backup just have a blue screen in the rear view mirror then after a couple seconds just go blank. This does not happen every time the truck is put in reverse. This is on a 2011 f-150

 

Only when I need the camera.

Random on mine. Just put it in the park and reverse and may get a message about the camera or video.

I sus there is a loose connector somewhere.

sounds like yo need to replace the camera. it's easy, 3 screws.

 

I bought one on Amazon for around $70. The camera worked perfectly, but everything was off center a few inches. The description said it was for my truck, but I believe it would have been perfect for newer trucks that have the camera off center on the tailgate.

I sent it back and ordered a 2nd one for $90. It has worked perfectly. Ford wanted $600 for a factory camera and to install it. After doing it once I did the 2nd one in 5 minutes.

 

Yes I looked on Amazon and lot cheaper than Ford. I can get the complete kit with emblem and bracket with wiring harness and camera for $129
