Wouldn't all tailgate mounted cameras require a new hole at the bottom of the tailgate?

No. There's already a hole at the base of the tailgate. Behind the ford badge is where you'd be required to drill.

The tailgates are camera ready from the factory....no need to drill any holes.

The truck in Stage 3's video is an 04-08 F150. Those trucks didn't come with the option so drilling is required. 09-14 F150s already have a big hole behind the emblem. No drilling required.

Good eye! I stand corrected.

I just finished installing my Christmas present on my 2014 F150 STX Sport Scab. A Garmin BC 50 backup camera that connects wirelessly to my Garmin NUVI 2699 LMT GPS. Installed the camera on my ARE truck cap just below the high brake light. Only hard connection to the truck wiring is to the back up lights (2 wires).

Works great, put the truck in reverse and the GPS display turns off and the camera feed the 6" display. Has adjustable display lines to show the width of the truck.

Merry Christmas

I'm about to install a Garmin GPS with the backup camera add on. Two birds with one stone.

Or you can mount an aftermarket camera by drilling the existing tailgate handle. You can glue to the tailgate handle by using plumbing pipe (PVC/ABS) glue or kit modeling glue. (Plumbing cement dries faster)

I purchased a rear view camera system for my Father. He's 78 years old & any additional help for him made my decision to get a separate screen (LARGE 8").
(In process of installation right now).

It really isn't my personal preference since I already have the OEM & MFT, and would have probably chosen a rear view mirror option if it were for me...but again I'm helping out my fathers 78 year old eyes.
But after installing the screen, I really have to admit its pretty nice!!!

I used the upper dash proclip cell phone mount and modified the screen's attaching bracket to fit the proclip mount perfectly.
The power cord is hidden behind the pass side trim panel which I slightly notched it for the power cord.
The camera is a "tailgate handle camera".
(These parts are from a company called Rostra).
