Default Back up camera not working

Another camera question - replaced my working camera but with a dreadfully awful picture with the updated Motorcraft FL3Z-19G490-D camera. Now all I see is a rainbow of vertical lines. Any ideas on why this has happened?

Thanks

The new camera MUST be synced with your F-150's computer, you can't just plug in a new unit and expect it to work properly. There are YouTube videos on how to do it properly (yes, it means another Ford emblem if it requires R&R) if you did all that, take the unit back for a new one.

Ok, just left the dealer. Yes, if you replace a camera the system must be reprogrammed. A better word might be "re-synced". At least the 360 system does. According to the dealer all cameras have to be synced to work together as the truck moves. This involves placing special mats on the floor all around the vehicle with special designs on them that the cameras/system recognizes as calibration patterns. Then the program is reloaded.
This process cost me $280 and took about 2 hours. My other cameras all worked fine (at least they did before I replaced the tailgate camera), so I didn't replace them. Everything works perfectly now.
