Anyone have a list of possible fixes for an intermittent back up camera? My truck is a 2012 with luxury package and factory backup camera (display in mirror). A few months ago it started working every other time, i replaced the part with the OEM part number and while the screen is alot clearer now it is still intermittent.

Is there a known fix? The connection at the camera is ok and the connection at the mirror is ok. How does the system detect when you put the truck in reverse? Is there a switch/sensor somewhere thats going bad?

 

What part did you replace? The reverse signal comes from the BCM.

Same thing was happening with mine. Turned out to be the cable. I had accidentally crushed part of it while closing my tailgate.

 

Slam the tailgate...used to work for me!

 

Similar experience here. I would get a glitchy screen interruption with pink/green areas in the display. I smacked the tailgate 1 time right under the camera with the side of my fist and it's been fine for over a year.
