Default axle shaft broke on the end. found it inside the diff

(2013 F-150 Ford FX4) hello I wanted to see if anyone was having something like this happening to them, where the axle shaft brakes inside of the differential but it's the second time this has happened, the original and now the new one. The new one only lasted maybe four to five months. I opened the differential and pulled the axle out and I don't see anything wrong inside the differential housing. The only reason I noticed the first time was because my brake caliper was rubbing my disc and was killing the brake pads

Do you have an E-lock rear axle? Either you have it engaged and don't realize it, or its failing and staying engaged even when the switch is off.

You notice the rear end binding or the tires chirping around tight corners? I can tell when mine is engaged and I make real sure I stay in a fairly straight line.

to be honest the only sound you could hear is the grinding coming from the caliper bracket on the disc but before that you wouldn't hear anything

It would be binding up while turning. That would be the easiest and most noticeable way to tell if it's engaged.
