Angry AXLE problem!

Started new thread with more pinpoint details.

I broke driver side axle. Bought another one and it doesnt fit.

Differences? the old one was a ball bearing type and rolled around. Had pretty good clearing with my leveling kit.

The new one is a tripod style bearing. I didnt realize this until I saw a ball bearing on the floor when I removed my old axle.

Anyone got the right part number? Autozone insists that they gave me the right part but how can it be the right part.. if this new part has no ball bearings... it has about 1 inch less clearance than the old axle. The old axle has been returned as a core (doh!)

2010 f150 xlt 4.6 4x4 6 speed auto.

Thats your first problem, Vatozone is full of IDIOTS. Just go to ford, give em last 8 of the VIN and call it a day. Yes might be more expenisive, but its for a reason; Right part first time, good quality.

so... nobody absolutely nobody had the right axle. Dealer axle fit like a glove. For some reason the aftermarket ones are tripod style bearings and the factory ones are ball bearings.... leveling kit and aftermarket do not match. issue resolved.
