Just purchased a 2009 Crew Cab, It has the auto-light feature. The dash lights don't illuminate during daylight,the headlight switch is not positioned for the light system. Previously owned a 2010 Super Crew with out this feature, dash lights illuminated when truck was started. The wife has a 2018 Mustang with auto-light, her dash lights come on with the system not activated. The truck is dark brown, with brown interior. Driving into the sun, the gauges aren't readable. Is this normal?

Have you tried turning on the head lights and raising up the interior dash lighting? My ( 2013) as I recall, the day time dash illumination was related to where I had it set at night I think.
