What do you all use this for? I mainly use the usb for everything (ex: phone charger, ipod). It isnt powerful enough to run tools.

Only thing I've used mine for is the phone charger. It will charge in less than half the time it takes thru the USB.

This is good info! Not only have I broken the cover of it, but I noticed it has gotten really loose. My wife's phone charger wouldn't even make contact without holding it just right. Going to be replacing mine as well. Thanks!

I was kinda surprised at some of the Google findings, there are guys removing their console to replace this outlet. I figured it was a simple fix but with my luck, I would have broken something in addition to the outlet! There are no diagrams that show how the outlet is connected to the convertor...I was worried it was hooked to a circuit board and not just a plug....

Cell phone charger, like it was already said, charges much faster.

You can buy one and then replace when it gets loose again, or you can do what I did here:

I was wondering if fixing the outlet was possible, I guess you answered my question. I guess I'll fix the old one until the new one malfunctions. Thanks!

This is not correct. It's fuse 38 (10 amp fuse) at the kick panel. Honestly you don't even need to disconnect the fuse, just use a thin flat blade screwdriver under the bottom of the plate, lift it out and swap it.

I did mine today. The plug was so loose nothing would stay in. I expect to replace this again.

Theres a fix for the loose plugs ion a link a few posts above.. and I know spaces in the fuse box vary from year to year, its a problem many people have been running into a lot on here
