i dont think that being the tip ..the powder coat would be effected considering that its cured with heat.. has anyone done it?

I painted my tip with high temp gloss black, looks sick...I get a pic for you.

Here is a pic of my RBP exhaust tip. I blacked everything out and installed the matching RBP black mesh grill in front. Hope this helps.

Just paint it with high temperature engine block enamel. Works good, I had thousands of miles on my old silverado with painted exhaust tips that still looked great when I sold it.
