Default Antenna options

Hey guys. So I recently moved and I now have a garage to park my truck into. Only concern I have is my antenna looks like its about to snap with the garage door clearance. Has anyone shortened theirs by cutting it? Or is everyone buying the shorty antennas? I just don't want to lose much reception. Thanks

From what I understand the ball will come off the top, trim to desired height, then pop the ball back on with a bit of superglue.

Good deal. I was hoping it was that easy. Wonder if it has much effect on reception

I just ordered one of the Stubby antennas thanks to another thread on the forum: CravenSpeed.

For $20, it looks like a cheap thing to try rather than make a permanent change to your original antenna.

Shorter the antenna, the worse the reception.

I bought the cravenspeed stubby antenna and it is by far the best looking stubby antenna out there. I haven't lost a bit of reception (i do live a very populated area.. Los Angeles) and recomend it to everybody.

I tried a shorty antenna on my 06 and the reception wasn't as good as the stock antenna. Then I cut a few inches off the stock antenna and glued the ball back on it and the reception still wasn't as good as it was with the stock height antenna. I don't listen to the radio much anyway so it wasn't a big deal.

I trimmed a inch off my oem antenna, and hot glued the ball back on, reception stayed the same! It was just enough to clear my garage opening....

The stubby Looks Nice (I sold mine) but of course.... Receptions terrible with it!
