Antenna Booster
Well I drove into a major city near my house this past weekend and it never cut out once. So it must not be a antenna issue, it's gotta be a location thing. I should note, I don't lose the station. It only looses HD, the none HD station still works fine. It's just not a crisp and loud as the HD signal.
I'm going to talk to crutchfield and see what they have to say.

Edit: Didn't see your last post. Looks like you've confirmed that it's a distance problem.

I think this is your problem. The town we live in is not the best place to be for radio reception or Verizon cell reception. Do you notice it drops out less as you get closer to NO or BR? HD radio is digital, so basically the signal is either there or its not. There is no in between like the analog signals that get mixed with static. The best way for me to explain this would be to relate it to HDTV. If you've ever tried to pick up over the air HDTV with an antenna, you'll notice you either get a crystal clear completed picture, no picture at all, or the dreaded "tiling". This tiling in your picture indicates that information is missing and the full frames can't be assembled on screen so it tries to show the little bit of info that it has. With HDTV, the signal doesn't have that "safety net" to revert back to analog so you get worthless crap on the screen. HD radio has this feature so that you don't completely lose the programming. So, basically, if there's not enough of the signal getting to you, what is there to boost? Nothing. If enough of the signal was there already, you probably wouldn't drop out. I would think there's no solution to this problem other than the radio stations boosting their coverage. It still wouldn't hurt to try something though. Edit: Didn't see your last post. I talked to Crutchfield and also a local radio shop. Both said the results of the boosters are not consistent - they may or may not improve your reception.
Wayne,
If you try that one, let us know the results.
