Default Another "what to do thread"

So I drove an F 150 the other day and now I want one. I intended on waiting for the 2011's, but Ford's dragging its feet on releasing what engines will be available besides the ecoboost; which I don't want. So I would like to buy now, but the lots are a little bare in my area. The last dealer I talked said he expected another shipment of 2010's. Not sure if this is BS or what. I hoped to find someone here in the know and also some friendly advice.

I'm in the same boat... I was looking to take advantage of the Year End rebates, but after getting awful trade-in prices for my car I've decided to sell it on my own and then buy an F-150. I know the 5.4 is good motor, but am really interested in what Ford might put out for 2011. The EcoBoost does interest me because I don't do a lot of big towing/hauling, plus the increased fuel efficiency. I think the other motor is the 5.0L Coyote, basically the same 5.0L v8 used in the 2011 Mustang GT. Should have roughly 400Hp and 375 ft/lb of torque, and I'm sure it will have improved gas mileage over the current 5.4L Triton. The mpg on the Mustang GT are 18/25. I know nothing has been confirmed yet, but that's what I've heard.

Any idea's when things will be officially announced by Ford?

In the latest "Ford" magazine that I received yesterday it states:

3.7 liter V-6; 5.0 liter V-8; an ecoboost engine and a 6.2 liter V-8. Also states that the 6 speed transmissions will have available "SelectShift Transmission and Progressive Range Select" which sound interesting. The option lets you switch to full manual or lock out high gears so you have more control of your transmission.

Would be nice to know a date on the release. Why such a big secret? My current truck will be a year older and worth less money by early next year. If I only knew the stats of the 5.0. On the other hand, I can't find what I want without the stupid chrome package.

I talked to the salesman who said his dealership has 2010's on order but the delivery date is unknown. Was told by Ford that the production on the 2011's will begin in January. This could be total BS. Maybe guys here know more about it. I plan on trying to work a deal on an XLT. It has pretty much everything except leather and navigation. Has the old man step on the tailgate which I don't like. Not big on the chrome package either. Sticker is 40,500. What do you guys think I can get it for? Thanks all.

Trust me, the step is a nice thing. I didnt want it either but it came with my truck but now I am glad I got it. Great for the kids and easier to get in and out of. I am thinking of getting rid of the handle portion and return it back to flat!

I say get a 2010 if ya can, pricing right now is great. Where are you? Im in Ontario Canada. I got the best price on a 2010 Screw FX4 than I've seen anywhere on here or elsewhere.
