Another Tablet in Dash Thread
I know there are several threads on this subject, but I think mine is different enough to start a new thread.
I am planning to install a Galaxy Tab 3 7 inch tablet in place of my stereo in my '09 F150. Unfortunately I do not have Sync or steering wheel controls so I will have to hard wire this into the truck. I have already purchased a small amp and a double din face plate. My plan is to connect the tablet to the amp with a 3.5 mm headphone jack to RCA and then the amp to the speakers. I am going to hard wire a DC outlet behind the dash to charge the tablet.
Does this sound like it should work? I should be able to control volume with the tablet. It is 4G capable so I will be able to stream everything that way.

I did find a thread last night where someone moved the factory radio controls from their normal location down to the bottom of the center console. I think this may be a great idea since it will allow the factory radio and all of it's functions to remain. I am thinking I could wire the tablet into the aux input allowing me to skip having to install the amp. I also like the idea of not losing the radio functions so that I can still get am/fm and not have to solely rely on streaming or downloaded music to save on data usage.
