I will change the filter.
,
About the converters, called ford. 80,050 miles.. yes only 50 miles out of warranty.

They refused to make exception. They did confirm its both..

They are fixing some intake manifold valves that open and close. Those were covered. They keep insisting that the banging noise is the converters and not the engine.. that the pressure is making something inside rattle.. does that make sense?

do the 5.4 fit?

hmm found oem converters for 700 bux.. direct fit . ima have to do that ad replace o2 sensors while im at it. Im still confused why the converters would "knock" and yes I will replace the oil filter.

Ive always wondered why I had crappy gas mileage and o2 sensor codes.... I guess the cats died...

sounds exactly like this..

Any specific universal ones that I can get? The truck has 3 o2 sensors right? or two? Thats probably the route I need to go.

My mileage is 80,055 ... yes I went over by 55 miles and ford refused to modify it.. I called them and no resolution.

Stock ones are high flow so I guess anything will work fas long as its universal?
4 o2 sensors i thought? 1 each side before cats and 1 each side after.

just need to make sure the diameter is correct for the exhaust piping you have on your truck. stock is 2.5 " i think. could be wrong its been a while since i had my 2010 4.6 f150.

the two downstream from the cats are the ones throwing your check engine light code. they check to see that the cats are working and since yours are not they will continue to show a fault.

sounds exactly like this.. Trailblazer SS LS2 Rod Knock??? No it was the Catalytic converter - YouTube
my 07 ram hemi had the drivers side cat fail and do this. the material inside breaks loose and gets knocked around and rattles because of the exhaust gasses. because of the positioning with the cats just up under and behind the engine it can s ound like its coming from the engine.

So I left it alone and it spat out the internals. No more noise. I do have a reaplcement cat but have yet to install. Was thinking spark plug foulers on the cat sensors.
