Default AM/FM Antennae base replacement?

HI all, on my 2011 F150 my stubby aftermarket radio antennae snapped off in the car wash. Looks like the threaded end of it is still in the base but stuck, rusted most likely. I'm trying to remove it with some trouble. Under the plastic base cover is a metal base with 3 screws. After removing them, its loose but the cable/wire is holding it down from underneath. I removed the wheel well liner to get access underneath but the wire goes through the body near the back of the glovebox. At that point it looks like there's a crimp in front of a grommet on the wire housing preventing it from being pulled through and up the base area. I also found where it unplugs near the glovebox. Does anyone know how to get it out? Cut it? Cut the crimp off? Does the new one go back in same way? Thanks in advance.
