Default Alarm/Remote Start Help

Just installed a Viper Alarm/Remote Start combo with a Smart Start Gps module and also integrated the AdvancedKeys.com Keyless Entry/Push Bottom Start System.

My factory specs are a 2011 Platinum Ecoboost with factory remote start.

I've wanted the smart start app on my phone and only way to do it was to bypass the factory remote start and install the viper. The factory one still works if I use the oem remote.

When I remote start on factory it turns on the ac or heat and defrost depending on weather. The viper system only turns on the system if it was on when I shut off the truck the last time.

Secondly when I unlock the truck with the oem remote it flashes the hazard lights then turns on parking (I think), dome and puddle lamps.

My questions are

1. How can I program the viper remote start to turn on the ac etc based on weather not last fiction used.

2. Where can I tap into to have the viper system trigger the puddle lamps, dome and puddle lamps.

Also the AdvancedKeys system piggy backs the viper system and works great. I have the transponder in my pocket, approach the truck and doors unlock, enter push the button and truck starts. No keys needed.

Thanks for the help.

Moe

Its been a few years since I installed any alarms but here's my thoughts.

As far as the climate controls, I don't think there is a way for it to adjust settings based on the weather. There may be a way to hook up and program to activate the heated/cooled seats and defrosters.

On the alarm/remote start there should either be one dedicated dome light wire that you can switch polarity on or two seperate wires (one for + one for - dome light systems). There should also be a dome light wire in the truck that needs to be spiced into. The puddle lights might be a seperate wire that would just need to be isolated with a relay. I'm not sure where exactly those wires would be but my guess would be at the BCM. You may want to check out the12volt.com.

Are these simple to install or would you recommend having a professional do them??

A professional all the way. I was stressed just watching him with all those wires. But many people try it.

As far as the temp deal, if a newer viper system it does have a on board thermister, and the temp can be adjusted to whatever you want and when this temp is reached it can output a signal to trip whatever you like, this is primarily used for defroster grids/ heated seats.... easiest best bet is just make sure your temps are set where u want them the night before...

The puddle lamps, if no one has posted by tmr.. i will give u the wiring info tmr evening.

Finally im guessing its a about a year out, but before long with the DBALL bypass module you should be able to do their RSR RXT tech in which it will basically allow you to add a smart start system to the factory remote start. not sure on the Flashlogic/ADS peices... and when they will have a solution available.
