Probably a bad sensor. Airbag systems are a 5yr 60k mile warranty. Go get it checked asap. I see you are just a tick over 50k

Could be the clock spring, easy to change but look it up. Not too expensive. I just did my daughters 2008 escape.

Disconnect the battery for about 5 minutes. After re-connected the battery hopefully the system will reset itself. If it does it again then a trip to the dealer may be in order.

Cheap scanners only read power train codes not air bag (SRS) codes or any other subsystem. To read codes from all other subsystems you will need IDS.

This and your own laptop, https://rotunda.service-solutions.co...?SKU=164-R9805

OH and I forgot to mention you have to also buy a license for the software @ $700/yr.

So here's an update. Just dropped my truck off, so they are telling me depending on what part of the airbag system needs to be replaced they will cover it. I don't see how that makes any sense since it said clearly in the manual that the srs system is covered for five years 60000 miles if anyone can provide me some clarity would be great
