Air Dam Removal Complete!

Front spoilers – A front spoiler (air dam) is positioned under or integrated with the front bumper.
In racing, this spoiler is used to control the dynamics of handling related to the air in front of the vehicle. This can be to improve the drag coefficient of the body of the vehicle at speed, or to generate downforce.
In passenger vehicles, the focus shifts more to directing the airflow into the engine bay for cooling purposes.

Now tell me who here is driving a race truck?

Take it off, it won't hurt a thing. I was concerned about taking it off at first as well but I saw someone on here say that it tells you in your owners manual to remove the factory air dam if you drive your truck in off-road conditions to prevent it from getting broke or snagged on things. I figure if its ok to take off while off-road where sticks and rocks can fly up at anytime, the highway is just fine!

Took mine off, lost maybe .5 mpg. Like the look. I don't think it has anything to do with the ac, it's all for mpg and aerodynamics

I've been an automotive tech for 30+ years and I can without a doubt tell you someone is pissing on you and calling it rain.
If Ford could save $3.00 on each truck by NOT putting that air dam on they would, and would still sell it for 30 grand +
Don't screw with what you don't understand.

And if someone on this or any forum tells you will soft land by jumping off a cliff with an umbrella you would do that too?

I removed mine with less than 75miles on the truck so I can't comment about what effects it has but it sure in the hell looks alot better. And getting 15 in mostly city driving I can't complain one bit.

Maybe you should apply for Ford's engineering team. Apparently you and others here seem to know more than those getting 6 digit salaries for optimizing our trucks.
