Default Aftermarket Switch Locations Thread

Looking to see where people have mounted their aftermarket switches for things like driving/spot lights and other accessories. I couldn't find a thread on this and got board of digging thread by thread so post your photos of your installs. if there is already a thread on this that I missed in the search post the link.

I don't remember which thread it was or who, but they had switches mounted in one of the sunglasses holder on the roof console. Was a pretty neat idea.

Anyplace there is a blank spot on your dash, there has been a switch installed. Use the search button, several threads on it.

These are for the upfitter switches but just do a search on light switches and you'll find several pages of different kinds of switches and locations.

Not a fan of cutting up the dash or having switches within sight that I rarely use. I mounted mine in the glove compartment.

I'm thinking of doing this, They have a video, quick how to. I was having trouble drilling holes in my dash too. It was tough to be OK with drilling a hole in a $50k truck.

I did this set up in my truck for a temporary set up for my accessory drive lights. I drilled a small hole in the back of that miscellaneous cubby and put a dash cover up piece for the switch. its hled in by putty at the moment... I'll eventually move it over after I get the starkey set up and just bite the bullet and cut the dash where starkey mounts their switch.

I was thinking about doing that and was really curious how people have mounted switches in that general area.

I use "Painless Wiring" switches and mounted them in the left trim panel. I have my PIAA front driving lights and PIAA solitaire for rear "additional lighting" attached to these. I still have room for 3 more switches in this area if I add more.

I like that look, very slick. Where did you get that dash cover piece and how did you mount it.
