Default Advice needed for purchase

I'm looking at a 2012 f150, crewcab lariat. 5.0L. 4x4. It's a great looking truck, but it has 115,xxx miles on it. Is the 5.0 a good enough engine that it will last me another 5 or 6 years? I've never bought one with over 100,xxx on it and I don't know much about the 5.0. Help me out guys. Thank you.

The 5.0 should last that much longer without any serious issues.

But what is the asking price?

You can't find a new, 2014 XLT for not much more? Seems like a lot of mileage for that price but I did not check KBB.

Edit - I did a quick KBB and you seem to be over $6,000 too high for a private sale.

I just wanted to get some feedback on it, because IMO 450 a month for something with 115,xxx miles on it is a lot.

It's from a dealer. The search that I did was ranging from 24,000 to 27,000. My only problem with KBB is it's not a real good evaluation tool, when it comes down to the lifespan of an engine.

Good lord is there $10k worth of gold on the bed?! Run away from that deal as fast as you can. You can probably get a brand new '14 for a smidge over $30k I would bet.

But it gives you an idea of price, and this truck is WAY outside anything reasonable, unless it has options that KBB isn't considering, which I doubt. The deduction for mileage is well over $4,000. You can price it on Edmunds also.
