I have had both. I traded my 2013 Screw Lariat 2WD Eco for the same exact truck with the 5.0. My Eco was plagued with the CAC Condensation issue that the dealer could not resolve, so I traded it with 9000 miles. I can tell you that there is no difference in MPG and very minimal difference in power between the two,..,,and then there is the turbo lag. If you keep the turbos spooled, the Eco will get far worse mileage than the 5.0. I am very pleased with the 5.0 and will more than likely never own another Eco unless it is the ONLY option.

The power bands are different on a 5.0 vs Boost. I can understand you switching from the Boost considering what you went thru.
I love the low end grunt of the Boost. First time I drove a 5.0 when my Boost was having all the dealer W.O. installed, I had a 5.0 loaner......I seriously thought something was wrong with it , I thought somebody had flogged the truck?.....but by the 3rd day.....when you got on it...it really woke up....so much respect for the 5.0

I've got a friend with a 2011 xlt eco 2wd. He just looked into switching into a 2014 and they offered him 25k for the 2011. Seemed like a great offer from a dealership to me. He didn't take it!
