Default Adhesive Removal

I removed my window deflectors and the adhesive and foam stuck to the paint around the windows. I tried using a rag and some goof off but didn't do much. Thought about using a heat gun and elbow grease. Any tricks to getting this **** off would be appreciated.

You need an eraser wheel. Used one to get the tape off when I removed my emblems.

If you want somewhat of a less "mechanical" solution, I always keep a quart of 3M Specialty Adhesive Remover 38984 around. Follow the directions. This is what it's made for.

Yea, the 3M stuff is good. I've also used Turtle Wax spray Bug and Tar remover with great success. Back in the summer of 2012 we had a huge storm come thru here. We say it was a Tornado, the weather service says it was a Super Cell. It blew over trees, and broke off tree tops all around us. A lot of trees just bent, and they still are today. I had pine needles and sap all over my '94 T'bird and my truck. Literally The Whole Truck and Car, glass, chrome, everything. Even had some branches and pine cones in the grill, window cowls. It was bad....The turtle Wax spray did the trick. Just sprayed a small zone about 10"-12" in diameter, let it set for a minute, then used my fingers to work it. was very easy but took some time. I had to do both of my vehicles and my sisters car. I'll post some pics in a few. But it did the trick.

Thanks for the replies. The eraser wheel saved me a ton of time and aggravation. I then used some bug & tar remover to remove the marks left by the eraser wheel. I'm very grateful for the tips.

I just had this issue, too. Got a new truck, 2014, and he put on those stupid window deflectors. The dealer is a f'n moron I bought it from so I picked up the 3M Adhesive Remover.

Best thing ever...plus I have an interior trim removal kit with plastic tools. I chose one with a nice edge on it and it scraped off nicely. Still needed elbow grease to remove the final residue but damn, that double sided tape is nasty.
