cord
There were several people that said they got their cable from Radio Shack. Do you have a part number, any of them that I call say they dont carry anything like that. I also can not find it online to reference. I don't want to have to order one online but am running out of options at this point.
same here man.... i'm apt to go to the dealership and pay the $40 for a direct replacement and do it the same way.

I've thought about the USB2 mod, but haven't done it yet. Instead, I just got one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/KINGSTON-16G...#ht_2964wt_922
It's very unobtrusive, has plenty of storage for my needs and I don't have to worry about taking it out. You can barely tell it's there on USB1.

I also plugged one of those tiny USB drives into my port, but got a cable from eBay and ran it to the glove box. Now that USB drive is in the glove box (seems like overkill) and now my USB1 port is freed up for my phone or other stuff.

First step, get a cord.
I searched and found an excellent seller on eBay that is selling the PERFECT cable! A mini USB male on one end, and a standard USB female on the other, it's about 3 foot long, and cost me under $10! Shipping takes a little while though, because it comes from Hong Kong... go figure...
Here's the seller:

Then grab a 7mm socket and a small ratchet, and hop in the passenger seat of your truck.
Up on top of the dash where the little non-slip pad is, is where we're focusing our attention here.
Lift the rubber mat out (I used my finger nails... it's time to cut them, lol; you can use whatever's handy like a small flat-head screw driver, just be careful not to scar up the plastic)
Now, grab your 7mm equipped socket and remove the two screws that hold the plastic base to the dash.
Once the screws are out, it's time to get the plastic base out of the way. Just lift up about an inch or so at the side closest to the window.
Once that pops up, push it forward about half an inch to release the other side

Im going to go to the dealership and get a replacement SYNC cord rather than an aftermarket one.
