Both my dad and I are going to do this, but since the glove box cable will be the primary port, we think we'll switch the USB1 port to the USB2 port then vise versa for the glovebox cable, because i hear some people are having glitches with the USB2. We'll probably only ever use the dashboard input for charging things. We hate interior clutter like father like son.

So if anyone has actually gotten anything formatted beyond 32 Gb please let me know how you managed to do it.
I use "FAT32 Format" (http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/guiformat.htm) on my 500GB HDD. Never had any problems running on my USB2.

A big "Thanks" to ya IAMSUPERBLEEDER!! Because of your super write-up and pictures I decided to do this mod. I went ahead and ran the cord under the carpet and put my ipod in the center console for a little bit easier access. Although I did a few things different, but without your write-up and pictures I won't have done any of it. You made it a piece of cake. Thanks again!!!

I have an 09 stx. Is there a usb2 port on it? If so I will do this mod as well! One other question, when using a flash drive with music, is it like having a cd in that has a ton of songs? Meaning, that you just have to go through all the songs to get to the one you want, or is there a way to have folders with different artist you can select?

Its just like if you were using a media player. You can pick from artists, albums, songs, playlists or genres.

So when adding the music to the flash drive do I make folders to put certain music in? Example: Rock, country rap ect. And then select which one I want from the radio. Sorry for the stupid questions, just never had any experience with one of these or the sync, lol.

When I used a flash drive and tried to access my playlists and artists the display told me that the device is not compatible with those fucntions. After playing around with it, I figured out that I have to go the "explore usb" category to access playlists.

This is all great, now if i can get the old WINAMP dancing girl on the Nav Screen, it would make traveling that much more fun.
