Default Actual MPG way off

Did you guys ever notice how much the fuel consumed in the trip data display is off? The display showed i used 21 litres since last fill up, on actual fill up it took almost 30 litres! Thats a huge difference. And thats the number the truck uses to calculate the MPG. So everything is off, and actual fuel consumption is way worse than what is displayed! Kind of rotted that a brand new truck isn't even remotely accurate. is there a way to re calibrate this?

its never been accurate, I don't know of a vehicle where it is. Denial is the root of someone getting this resolved, lol. Its much better to "think" you are getting 22mpg, when you are getting 17-18. Its good for morale

My 2012 platinum is pretty much dead on as far as gallons used, at worst I'v seen it off by a gallon and thats beccause I'll pump more after the pump shuts off.
My MPG is off by 1.5 - 1.75( I acount that because of the new tires)
At first with the new tires (HANKOOK 275-60-20)My speedo was off by 2 mph by GPS(speedo would read 70, Gps read 72)
But now the speedo and GPS are reading the same,,,dont no why??
My DTE is way off,,,fill up with 0 MTE but only get 32 gallons in

Just filled up this evening. Actual mpg was 16.3 but the reading told me 16.8. Not too far off.

Mines been pretty close so far, first tank was .2mpg better, second .3mpg worse, and the last .1mph worse hand calculated. Trip gallons used has been within .5 gallons of actual used on mine. I DO know if your parked on a decent grade and leave it running for a few minutes it throws the Miles To Empty WAY off which also seems to throw off the trip gallons used. A few miles of driving seems to correct it again.

As for my fuel consumed meter, I've always filled up about .5-1 gallon more than what it says I used.

For example, fuel used showed 29 gallons, I usually put in between 29.5 and 30 gallons. MPG is fairly close to hand calculations. If your meter is that far off, perhaps there is something wrong.

Do you have oversize tires on you truck? If so, have you had it re-calibrated for the oversize tires?

Ours has been pretty consistent by being ~1gal off.

I found in my Mustang that heavy use of the throttle would do this to the computer. Things like merging onto the highway and passing.

I suspect that part of this may be the time we use the remote start. I dont think the computer is tracking the fuel used when remote started, it does not seem to affect the MPG display. I have not thoroughly investigated that, it is just an observation.
