Default Acceptable Rim/Tire width?

I am looking at purchasing GY Duratracs and was looking at 275/65/20 which would work perfect on my stock 20 inch wheels but then I noticed the 325/60/20 and I was wondering if they would fit.

My question is, if I get the 275/65/20 for my stock wheels but later on buy some aftermarket 20x10 wheels, that tire is made for a 7.5 to 9.5 inch wide wheel according to Goodyear, so what happens if I mount it on a 10 inch wide wheel, will it be safe?

And what about the opposite if I buy the 325/60/20 which are made for a 9.0 to 12 inch wide wheel and I mount them on the stock 8.5 inch wide wheels which is too narrow according to goodyear?

Ya I know they might not fit without a lift or maybe level, but my main question is what happens when using a narrower rim on a wide tire or a wide rim on a narrower tire?

Ask your tire installer as some might not even do it for you do to you being over or under approved rim width.
