AC Vent Temp Issues - Blend doors or something else?
I have a 2012 Platinum Ecoboost with around 100k mi. For the last year, the AC has been pretty bad. I've read about all the various issues here, learned a lot, and trying to figure out the best way to start troubleshooting. The compressor and condenser are new. The same shop should have replaced the evaporator and expansion valve, but I'm not ruling that out as an issue. The last time I took it back to the same shop, he said he is sure the blend doors are faulty. I've looked through all the threads here and not sure whether changing these would help. I am running Forscan and Evap Temp is 48-53deg depending on speed. Both blend doors are cycling open and closed (0%) and I can feel a change from cold to hot back to cold at the vents. I haven't heard any clicking or noises from the blend motors. Vent temp is 65-70deg from all vents. I know the recirc door is broken. I am in FL and it is middle of summer. I am going to try and replace the recirc door this weekend and see what that does to vent temps. I should probably replace the blend motors, but with all vents showing the same temps and cycling correctly, I don't think that is the main issue? I am wondering if the Evap Temp on Forscan is actually what it is getting down to. Maybe that sensor is faulty? Hate to do a bunch of work trying to get the recirc door and blend motors in only to have to pull the dash and evaporator anyway, so trying to troubleshoot what I can.
