Default 6r80 torque converter

Has anybody else had trouble finding correct torque converter? OEM TC (8L2Z-7902-ARM) has been discontinued and I can’t find alternative. My truck is 2010 4.6L 3V with 6R80 transmission, TC don’t seem to exist for this combo.

I haven't heard of a torque converter going bad, what happened?

I watched this one a while back, I think he mentions it feeling like driving over rumble strips.

Or maybe it was dropped...

Make sure your ignition system is 100%. It can mimic torque converter issues.

Thanks, that looks like it is the one I need. I ordered a TC from that site last night but after researching a bit more it turns out its only for the 4 speed trans.

I had a fluid leak from the bulk head adapter and did get around to fixing it until I started getting the "rumble strip shutter". I even went on a few long road trips with the shutter pulling a trailer. I replaced the bulk head adapter, changed filter and was about 5 qt low on fluidl, I measured what I took out and what I put in. I no longer have the ruble strip shutter but I now have a terrible noise coming from my TC, I verified its not the exhaust heat shield. I am also getting random surges at certain RPMs. I have replaced plugs and coils, engine runs great and transmission shifts smooth.

There's a Fordtechmakuloco video on diagnosing a TC issue, using IDS to turn it off to confirm whether it smooths out cruising.

yes he used IDS - but you can use forscan and it’s easy to perform diagnostics once set up👍🏻

Touching the brake pedal very slightly should unlock the converter. It did anyway on the 4R70W. That was a way to diagnose shudder vs misfire.
