I thought the 6-bar was the 2012 XLT grille, but my dealer has 4 or 5 2012s with 3-bars when I was in there for service, so I was wondering does the different grilles signify anything about the truck, or is it simply an aesthetic piece?

3 bar grille is a normal XLT. The 6 bar grille is added if the truck has the chrome package

I like the 6 bar one personally, so I suppose it's good mine has the 6 bar one =P

yep, the 3 bar is the standard XLT grille, the 6 bar comes with what you americans call the chrome package and what us canadians call the XTR model.

I personally prefer the 3 bar grille .

And here its a Texas Edition and to the OP alot of trucks here have the chrome package and they sell em more since its labeled as a TX Edition
