I dont own one, but since you threw out mpg, Id say there probably isnt a negative. It doesnt have the electric power steering....

I have 6.2 Lariat Screw with 10,000 trouble free miles so far. Love the truck and would not want any less of an engine. I didn't buy if for fuel mpg, but I have been pleasantly at how well it does and the performance it offers. Towing a 10,000 toy hauler I get 7.5-8 miles per gallon and empty 65-70 on the interstate 18-19 and in town 14-16. Great engine with lots of power galore! Fun truck to drive.

I really like my 6.2 I've had it year and half pulls great with no issues. I might be trading it in on new Eco boost soon though. It's a cost thing for me though is only reason why though.

Default 2012 Fx4 screw 6.2

239 miles on the clock and getting 16mpg on highway running 73 mph with 275/65/20 terra graps with bilstein level. City mpg is around 10 mpg but sure that will improve as engine breaks in. Nice sound and awesome power.

11000 miles and no problems. Love the engine. 10-11 pulling my 6k tandem enclosed trailer at 70-75 mph (I've got 5000 miles of towing now), 14 around town to wrk, 16 on the open road. I find it comforting to have it under the hood, kind of old school.

Love my 6.2L. Sure the Ecoboost may make more torque in the lower RPMs, but foreplay gets old eventually. Keep your foot in it, and the 6.2L rewards you with a linear surging crescendo as the climax builds with RPM.
