6.2 in F150
Has anybody here bought, or ordered a 2013 XLT with the 302A package and the 6.2 ?
I've been building them on Fords website, and it's an expensive package, but a very nice package -

The 6.2 is a tough nut to spend. I think anyone who needs the combo should wait until rebates are in the 4-5K range otherwise your buying a 6.2 XLT for the price of a loaded Lariat ECO.

*Please read the following post as an honest question, not an attempt at engine bashing *
Curious, why exactly would you want the 6.2 in an F150? I would think that if you really needed that much more towing ability than the EcoBoost offers, then you should just go with an F250. Plus you're not going to get much worse mpg with the 250 and you can probably get one for alot cheaper. I have zero experience towing, so Im just kinda curious.
Also, for the first 8 years I had a license I drove a 2003 F150 with the V6 that had just slightly more power than a Vespa. Compared to that my 5.0 might as well be a Ferrari speed-wise, so to me the 6.2 would just be massive overkill in that department.
So again, just kinda curious about the reasons why folks would want the 6.2 in a half ton. And as a heads up, I am one of those people who believes that "I want one because I want one and its my money" is a way more than adequate answer to the question!

I have been thinking similarly. I want a loaded Lariat 6.5 foot bed 4X4 with the 6.2L. I am thinking of giving my Platnium to the wife as her Yukon is rapidly giving up the ghost. I want the max row package as well which I think yields a 3.73 rear end. I just can't help thinking I might as well get an F250 but it is just a taller truck, not much longer if longer at all.

Hd 6.2
I bought a 2012 Harley Davidson F-150 4X4 which comes standard with the 6.2 V8 and I absolutely love it! I highly recommend installing a cold air intake, a high performance mass air flow sensor, and a programmer. From the factory this motor has some serious power but has a whole lot of potential that can be released with a tuner. MPG is really not that bad since I mostly just lug around town.

Well, I love my truck, and I love it's 5STAR tuned 5.0 -
It's quick, sporty, and it's sure-footed, especially after I put in the True Trac -
But yesterday I needed to pull the skid-steer about 4 miles to a site, slightly uphill all the way, and the high-revving horsepower 5.0 gets out of breath, and is a little out of it's element pulling 10,000 lbs.
Now, I remember pulling loads like that with the '79 Ford, and an anemic 351M, and the 5.0 is more capable, but I'm thinking a 6.2 with an 87 Octane tow/perf tune would be just as quick/sporty, as well as the extra twist of torqu for the times when I'm pulling.
But the price tag - Fords system won't let you build one on an XL, or plain jane XLT -
That's wy I was wondering if anybody else had bitten the bullet and ordered one -
