Again, not starting a pissing contest but I disagree with your statement about symmetry.

Finally, someone or several people said it best; it's all in what you use it or want it for
I agree for sure, 6.5 is way more symmetrical than 5.5 for super crew at least. I'm sure you get used it, I thought 6.5 crew was goofy looking compared to 8ft reg cab at first but ive had one a while and it's feeling like the norm now. 5.5 look way out of proportion but they won't fit in most older garages and lots of people with trucks don't haul anything anyway. Plus the parking thing I can see, my 6.5 takes up about a space and a quarter in cities with spots made for compact ****box cars, lol

Question, are all super crews the same size as far as the cab goes? Like rear passenger room? I, for some reason thought I heard that the 6.5 got the extra foot by making the back seat area smaller then the 5.5? Im pretty sure thats false info, I just wanted to make sure. The 6.5ft Screw is just 12" longer as a whole, not just the bed.

The cabs are they same size, the bed is longer. You can see if you look at the distance from back of cab to front of rear wheel well. They did add 6 inches to the cab in 09 or 10 I think, but cabs are identical no matter bed size

that's something Ram does, you can get a bigger cab by getting a smaller bed or vise versa but Ford uses the same size cab regardless of bed length, as SultanGris said.

Good to know, and thank you for the information. I myself have the 5.5ft bed, and I feel its tiny.. I wish I had the 6.5ft. However I love my truck, sooo thats all that matters. I can get a trailer from work if I need to move something large.

And FWIW, I like the 6.5. Proportionate/symmetric, sexy, magical, unicorny...oh wait. I just like it better. No issues with parking; I park mine far away when I'm at Home Depot or Walmart or anywhere for that matter as long as the options open.

Same here

We all see it differently. Sure the 6.5 length is similar to the Cab length. That's not the entire truck though. You have the imbalance of the shorter nose section. I don't have any numbers or measurements to back this up but I just think the nose section is more similar in length to the 5.5 bed balancing the appearance of the truck nicely.

In other words: Short, long, short -symmetry. Short, long, long - assymetry.

Not a big deal.

I count the nose and and cab as one section and box the other, I'm sure everyone else does too a there's a clearly defined split between them, lol! I see can see how you arrived at your opinion thinking there are 3 sections though.

The 6.5 bed is my choice just in case my wife locks me out, I can sleep in the bed and stretch out...

When traveling with gear in the bed, I've found that I've never complained about having the space and I know I would be complaining if it was a foot shorter.

Yep, I definitely didn't look at the truck in 3 parts...
