Has anyone noticed any blue smoke out the tailpipe at first start. Just a small puff of it, sucks my truck only has 1300 miles on it. My dad has an 03 HD F150, an 01 Expedition and my brother has an 02 F150 all with 5.4s that have this same issue, I can kinda understand it on the Harley trucks with the blowers and they have stuff to help with there issues of the smoking, but there is NO REASON for a non-blower motor to do this. Gotta love these 5.4's.

 

Personally, I think the 5.4 is a great motor. This is my second F150 in a row with the 5.4, and I think it is a good match to the vehicle. A little smoke out the tailpipe at start up is not something that would keep me up at night.

 

on a brand new truck, come on. Thats sad, like when all your buddys are there and they are diehard Chevy, and Dodge people really makes an ***** of you. Just my .02 cents.
