I was able to make the noise diminish significantly by cancelling the cylinder at that point its short block time, fun fun.
Well, the big question to me is this - how 'prevalent' is it, as in percentagewise? Is it something every owner should expect? I just got one, has 5K miles on it.

Well this is the first one I have seen but looking in the Ford Hotline database there are tons of reports on it, I imagine yours is a 2013? I would think yours has the revised engine in it.

So I guess is there anything to watch or listen for on earlier models other than the slight rap/knock that you described earlier? You don't happen to have a video of how this sounded, do you?

Yes mainly just knocking noises out of the ordinary. No recording, now I wish I would have made a recording of the noise I think it would have picked it up good oh well.

Follow up question - is there a place to find specifically what was revised for the 2013 engine? I mean, I plan on owning this for a LONG time, so I'd like to either know more about it, or plan ahead. LOL

Default Well done

Good work and thanks for posting this. It's nice to have a shop with the tools to pull an engine like that. You have obviously done this a few times and like another member posted, you are a "machine". Again thank you for making the time lapse it was really neat to see that motor come out and go back in. It's like auto ****, but with out the happy ending.
