Go 5.0, sounds like a truck should sound. Also, my money says it will be more reliable.

now after reading all these posting not sure! I have 6.5 bed thinking this would be ok so wouldn't have go with a slider type hitch. this is one question i have, the other is
my 5wheel has a dry wt of 6600lb. now my manual for my f150 states my max tow wt. is 7500 lb this doesn't sound good to me. any help will be welcome
You should of gotten the 3.73 in my opinion. The 5.0 engine will pull it fine. Your 3.55 gear is what's really hurting your tow number.

I too struggled with this decision but ultimately I went with a more proven motor and that is the 5.0L. EB was very tempting with the better torque and better fuel mileage but just couldn't get myself to do it. I feel like the 5.0 will be more reliable down the road. But honestly... I don't feel like you can go wrong with either. Both are sweet trucks!

If you got an F150 with 3.55 to tow a 5th wheel you really didn't do your homework properly. Simple, look at your payload on the door sticker and go hit the scale with your trailer. With this truck you're most likely we'll above your payload with the trailer empty.

Yes you can tow a 5th wheel within the limit of a F150 but you have to do it right.

The 157WB is an heavy truck to start with. Is it a 4x4?

Good luck

Turbos should last 250,000 miles. And with the oiling capabilities of the Eco compared to the 5.0 I'm sure it will last just as long if not longer.
The 5.0 is a new engine??? That's news to me. That block has been used since the 60s. I don't deny the ecoboost at all I had a king ranch Eco and I loved driving it. But saying the 5.0 is new? The engines are the same, the materials change, intakes change, ignitions change, but people have been working on 5.0s (302s) for years. If anyone in hear would be unbiased towards this thread it would be me, I have the 09' 4.6. So I was a little upset when a year later there are 3 new engines, but I have to say after driving the Eco I'm impressed and there's something about a 5.0. I'm more than likely gonna turbo my 4.6 because it would be a great platform for a low boost setup. Just wish I had the 5.4, so much to do to them and a proven engine.

The 5.0 is brand new, designed new from the ground up. The only thing it has in common with the 5.0 of old is displacement.

The 5.0 is a brand new engine like the EB is. Today's 5.0 has nothing in common with the old 302, sorry. Yes they are both 5.0L (302) but it stops there

Uhm, I think you guys missed my point... How is the fact that it has the same displacement a minor factor... Ford has had plenty of experience with that engine through ford racing... They never stopped producing it, so it has adapted to the needs of today's v8 truck, fuel economy and power, as well as low rpm torque.

Well, you said "that bloc has been used since the 60s"... We say not it has not, this is a new bloc that was introduced few years ago.
