Default 5.0 surging and long crank time

For several months I have had a surging issue and the past few days I've experienced long crank times before it fires. Neither happen all the time and it does not have to be cold. The surging seems to occur most after it's been sitting about 45min to 2 hours after driving. Haven't gotten a pattern on the extended crank time but surging has followed it so far. The surging happens under light acel off of idle. Clears up after about 5 - 10 seconds or if I acel hard. Anyone had this prob?

Sounds like a fuel pressure issue. Fuel pump or injectors.

What year is your truck? I know there is a service bulletin on a jerking or shuddering on a "cold" start when you first take off in the truck . Very common with the 5.0 . They fix it by Re Flashing the Tcm. Look up tsb 13-1-10 . This should fix one of your issues .

Fuel pressure was my first thought as well. I'm going to try to remember to cycle the key a few times before start up to see if it has any effect.

It's a 2012. My will do it sometimes when it's cold but more so when it's warm.
