Default 5.0 knock question

currently have an xlt with the eb, and a dealership around me has a loaded fx4 with the 5.0 that I'm thinking about pulling the trigger on. I did some searches to read up on the 5.0 and kept coming across threads talking about the knock.

Is the knock very common in the 14 model or is it primarily the early 5.0s?

Sure, some engines make a little noise. Absolutely doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it.

Out of curiosity, why do you want to replace your EB with a 5.0?

Def concentrated to the early 11's and 12's. And sometimes people mistake the ticking for knocking. My '13 5.0 is picky with oil and oil levels. It was ticking and i replaced the plugs and PCV valve and it all went away.

Having said that, I prefer this over the headache of ecoboosts with turbos, coolant and oil lines, intercooler issues, misfiring, boost plumbing, etc.

I would prefer to get another ecoboost I've had a great experience with it, but the one with the 5.0 is the right color, miles, and price... mainly looking to get something with rear vents for the kids.
