5.0 knock oblong cylinder
So if ford knows about all these trucks knocking due to oblong cylinder then why don't they take care of them?? This is happening enough for them to know it is a factory defect.

I have read and will admit mine is included in this statement the problems were not discovered until the warrantee was over. This does not excuse the manufacture from fixing a problem that is clearly caused by them. The problem here is not the problem at all. the problem is how they have chosen to handle the problem!! A good example would be ford still covers many chrome parts that are chipping off on some Lincoln's (grills, emblems, ect) these vehicles are 10 years old with no milage restriction. This is correct way to fix something that was not produced correctly.

My 2012 has a slight knock at idle. One of the guys at ford service sent me a TSB on the 2011-2012 f150 and mustangs with the 5.0. Says the timing chain tensioners go bad and cause the problem. So I'm having the chains and tensioners replaced on mine next week. Hopefully this will fix my problem.

I just wonder what the long term durability issues will be if an engine is left knocking/ticking?
I mean will it go 130-150k miles before it grenades? Or 65-70k miles?
Anyone ran a knocking 5.0 into oblivion?
