Understood, all the best luck with getting it resolved.
One thing you could also try is take the truck to an independent shop and pay the $100+ for a "licensed mechanic" to diagnose the knock with a stethoscope and document it on paper that there is a problem and take that to the Ford dealer.Something I was going to consider doing with my 2011 5.0 V8 but instead traded it in on my now new 2014 5.0 V8.

Just took my 2013 F150 5.0 to dealer for the engine knock (not lifter tick, it was a metal on metal Knock) under extended warranty, they isolated it to the passenger cylinder cover. Upon pulling the cover they found cylinder 3 & 4 Cam lobes and associated components had excessive scoring and wear, So I guess it had a sticking lifter or something? They drained the oil through a strainer and found metal shavings in oil, cut open oil filter and found it full of shavings.. Waiting on warranty to send a rep to decide if its going to warranty the repair.. Ford suggested a new long block. Fingers crossed.
Figured I would post this as another bit of information on the 5.0 knock.

Default Engine Replacement Warranty - Canada

Greets All!
Just checking in on the thread and noticed I forgot to update the group on my warranty outcome. Ford Canada has ruled no additional engine coverage over the 90 day/5000km. Only if I had paid for the repair would they provide a 2-year warranty on the new engine. Truck is running like a top since the work and shifts are quick and positive, maybe due to that torque converter seal replacement...don't know, but it's working great!

Well.. seemed like it was running fine, other than the noise.. BUT! It had been making that noise since I bought the truck so no baseline of how it ran before the nock. Originally it wasn't that loud and I chocked it up to lifter tick like most engines, but it got louder and more of a Knock than a tick. The truck always felt like it had bogging issues, it would shift and give that overloaded bogging intake sound, whether that is normal I don't know.
I called the dealer today and they said the Warranty inspector came Monday, but they haven't heard back from the Warranty company yet, so he is going to call him today and try to get an update. Fingers crossed!

I might get a little bog now and again in the morning when I go from reverse into drive. Sometimes that feels like it takes forever.
Generally tho, it's pretty responsive.

I do hope they come through for you.
That's not something that should ever happen until 200,000 miles

I wonder if the new designed head (2015 forward) is for this very reason. Different head gasket, Different combustion (looks flatter) chamber and valve angles, different exhaust milling on it, different (larger) oil passageways for the Phasars etc. but I'm not sure what all the F150 gets. The head doesn't appear to be a direct bolt on to the older generation motor due to piston valve relief cuts & the head bolts are bigger.

Default 2014 at 57k still knocking

I'm in the same boat. 2014 5.0 and it's been knocking away and the dealership doesn't even seem interested in repairing or helping. "Oh it's normal" "we can't hear it". Bought this truck brand new and expected to keep it till 200k. Beginning to regret my decision of not getting a tundra over this truck with the way the service has been
