Default 4x4 not working

I know last year someone had posted the same problem but I'm unable to find thread.

So I switch to 4x4 and it shows engaged on dash but no power going to front wheels. I know It worked a few months ago because I dug 4 holes in the sand pit I was in, but now the rear wheels are the only think digging holes in soft snow, She should be spitin snow back at the side mirrors.

Just wondering if anyone has, had or heard of the same problem.

2010 5.4 6.5ft bed if ya needs to know.

you tried 4lo at all? Shift to neutral and try 4hi? Backup after engaging?

I remember hearing somewhere that if you are stopped, in drive or in neutral and shift the ESOF to 4X4 sometimes it won't engage. But, they say if you're rolling, in gear, no problem. Might be the splines don't align to engage the wheels if it's not lined up? Seems it ought to go in once moving, but who knows.

I'd try it while driving 15 or 20 MPH and shift from 4X2 to 4X4 and then try to spin the front wheels in sand/snow.

If that doesn't work and it won't engage by going into reverse, I'd be headed to the dealer for warranty repair.....

You may have snow and ice packed in the shift linkage for the T case. You may also try backing a few feet to see if it will engage.

Check your owners manual and your fuses ( 2 ) if blown replace, if they blow again take it to your shop. Possible short in engagement. If it shifts in neutral on loose surface your ok to go as it probably happened when you disengaged it last time on dry surface.
