4wd issues
I did some testing yesterday and this is what I found.
In 2hi, my truck unlocks the front hubs and everything is the way that it is supposed to be
In 4 auto, my truck locks the front hubs and I can turn the wheels which turns the front drive shaft freely.
In 4 hi, the same exact scenario occurs as 4 auto, meaning I can turn the axle by hand
In 4 lo, same scenario as 4 auto, except it is in low range.
I tested the vacuum of the hubs and everything up front was obviously good.
Is this the way that the 2 speed auto is supposed to function? I feel like in 4 hi and 4 low, I should not be able to turn the driveshaft by hand, the front and rear should be locked together, right?
Also, the 4 wheel drive functions in all ranges, but in 4 hi/low I can make a full-lock turn left and right and there is zero hopping. (No I wouldn’t do that if it did)
