Default 4'' Rancho or 4'' BDS

Am wanting to put 35 inch tires on my truck using my stock 20'' rims and I believe the 4 inch lift should accommodate that! I have a 2011 Screw shortbed with the 20's! What lift is better and why? Any thoughts or knowledge would be greatly helpful!!

personally, my brother installed a Big D*ck Suspension on his 2007 3500ram, it was nice, but he never used it. i think he was scared he would fudge something.

myself, 2010 screw 5.5 box, i'm going with rancho, just with different shocks etc

i want to be able to launch like a raptor, but not have so much travel so i can retain strength when doing other stuff.

You can fit 35s with a leveling kit on stock wheels.. I have Rancho 4" with RS9000XL shocks and honestly have never had a lifted truck ride this smooth.

My F150 - 4" Rancho with Rancho RS9000XL adjustable gas shocks and Nitto Grappler 35's. Truck rides much better that stock. Many members have great things to say about the BDS, but I think Rancho with the Rebate wins in terms of price overall.

Also, look at the Rancho website and you'll see a $500 rebate they are running right now for a lift and the 9000 shocks.

I'm about to throw 34.5" tires with my BDS 2.5" leveling kit.

Just wanted to throw that out there incase you were only looking at the 4" lift kit to accommodate 35" tires.

How good are those shocks? Can you hop or launch with them? I have no experience with gas shocks... how do you and how easy are they to adjust?

Tough call I say.. Rancho does have a good rebate going. I had the Rancho Quicklift on my '04 F150 with 35's and RS9000's on the rear and loved it, drove great. Now I have 6" BDS with Fox shocks and 37's and I'm loving this truck. Still rides great IMO. I think my next truck, '15 possibly, I'll try the BDS 4" with 35's. Good luck with your decision and post pics!

Not sure I'd want to launch the truck. I do go off roading (ie old logging roads etc as I live in the pacific NW, but I've always kept the front end on the ground). If your are interested in flying, then you might want to lock at some of the manufactures that sell shocks with separate fluid reservoir (like Rapor's have).

As for adjustment on the RS9000XL Rancho Gas shocks there is a small **** on the bottom of each shock that you simply turn and there is about 8 settings. I usually change my settings twice a year (normal - that I like with about a setting of 2 in the front and 4 in the back, then in the summer time when I tow my boat/trailer that weighs about 7000lbs I change the settings to around 5 in the front and 7 in the back, but I am also still experimenting. total time to change the settings on all 4 shocks can be done in less than a minute. For the rear I have to lay under the back of the truck to reach both shocks and for the front I simply put my head inside the wheel well and look down at the shock then turn the botton. Hope this helps and good luck as there are so many options out there for both lifts and shocks so it kind of comes down to each individual and what they want or what they want to spend.

Has anyone used the stock FX4 18" wheels and put a bigger tire on them to use with their lift? If so, how big a tire can you use?
