Recently bought a 2013 FX2. Was wondering if anyone else got any crap for getting 2wd?

I live in the south, in an area that does NOT get snow, and I don't plan on off-roading with the truck, so did not think 2wd would be a bad choice (still don't). What are the big negatives to having only 2 wheel, am I missing something?

I love my FX2. I've had several 4x4 vehicles and rarely ever used it even when living up North. I have no need for it in Dallas. My truck is my daily driver. As long as you like it, who cares what anyone else thinks. They are not making the payments.

I currently have an 07 FX4, but I really don't drive the truck much. I am considering a new rcsb 5.0 2wd, winter is the only thing that could keep me from it. I love the look of a 2wd, especially lowered a bit. Better fuel mileage, cheaper sticker price and no longer needing such large tires to get a decent look are all + for me.

I have owned 2 Lifted F150 4x4 on 38"s and they stayed cleaner than most cars on the road. So this go round I bought a 2WD and spent the extra money on all the extras on the interior. I did a small lift with A/Ts and I'm happy with it. But I just started hunting and doing more "off-road" things and kinda wish I had 4x4 now cause I would/could actually use it. Do I regret it? Hell no, I love my truck. But I think from now on my trucks with be 4x4.

I don't really get picked on cause it's 2WD but I do always get asked "Why lift a 2wd?"

I have the same truck. Would buy it again in a heartbeat. I live in the south. Just not going to use 4wd, ever. Even in the big ice storm here a few weeks ago, I got around without any issues. Do I like the 4x4's, sure. Do I need one? No. Do I regret not getting it? No. If I find my needs change, I'll get one.

Very nice truck, close to my color (dark shadow grey). Those head/taillights definitely make the look of these trucks, wheels are nice too! I like a 3/5 drop on these but I know that's not everyone's taste (or always practical)

I'm in the south and know how people here expect a truck to be 4wd. I've had 2wd and 4wd and have never been stuck in either. You learn what you can do in both and 4wd may save you some steps on that hunting property or when fixing that fence in the rain but to say it is a must here is silly. A 2wd is cheaper to buy, cheaper to operate, and still does 99% of what a 4wd can do.

That being said I drive a 4wd. Why? Cause everyone expects me to.

Previous truck was a z71. Lift 37's **** mpg the whole 9yd. Was looking for a clean DD and can lift if I so please. Rarely used my 4wd in old truck anyway.
Would only get 4wd for a little better resale value in my area but I'll be keeping this truck for awhile

Lariat D.B.P.M. is 2wd. He's a 2011 Screw, haven't had any problems with traction, and don't regret that he's 2wd. Years ago I had a 2004 FX4. I used the 4wd a few times a year to lubricate the front drive gears. Never needed the 4wd for driving. We are in southern N.J. near Atlantic City.
